Continuing Education Credits

A certificate of participation for 5 hours will be awarded to those that attend the Summit and complete the survey at the end. For certified CHWs, this certificate can be submitted to the state for 5 hours of Non-Certified Continuing Education credit. Per the state of Texas DSHS CHW Certification Renewal, you must renew your CHW certificate every two years. To renew your certificate, you must complete 20 hours of continuing education (10 hours of DSHS-certified and 10 hours of non-certified hours) related to the core competencies during each two-year renewal period.
